Texas {part 1} // Flying

On November 1st, Mom, Jonathan and I left on a weekend trip to Texas for Uncle Samuel's {Mom's brother} wedding. The Lord provided unexpectedly for me to take the trip with them and I was so excited! I'd been hoping to fly again for a very long while, and was thrilled when the opportunity arrived!

Flying is simply an amazing experience...The feeling of take off and then ascending higher and feeling the force is incredible. Watching everything get smaller so rapidly is too! Being up in the air and seeing the ground below thru the clouds, and then eventually being above the clouds, helps me feel just a little more of how huge and beautiful this earth is. I'm just a speck in contrast with this enormous earth and the seven billion people therein, and yet God loves, cares and know everything about me. It's humbling to be reminded yet again of what an awesome Creator I serve!

I was delighted to get a window seat...we're about to go to the taxiway at this point

Waiting our turn to taxi!

Just a few seconds after takeoff!

This was picture worthy, for it was the most expensive drank I'd ever gotten. We thought we'd at least get free water on the plane, but what do you know? It was $2.50 a bottle, and we decided it wasn't worth it to get dehydrated on the three hour flight, so we bought one.  [Note to self: when you use a cheap airline, it'll show...the water bottles were just one example =)]

Doesn't it look a bit like Monopoly?!

"The heavens declare the GLORY of God,
and the firmanent showeth his handiwork!"
 {Psalm 19:1}

Thy mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens;
and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds.
 Thy righteousness is like the great mountains;
thy judgments are a great deep:
Lord, thou preservest man and beast.
{Psalm 36:5-6}

How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God!
 therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.
They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house;
and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.
{Psalm 36:7-8}

"Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things,
 that bringeth out their host by number:
 he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might,
 for that he is strong in power; not one that faileth."
{Isaiah 40:6}

For by him were all things created,
that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible,
whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers:
all things were created by him, and for him:
And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
{Colossians 1:16-17}

Thy righteousness also, O God, is very high,
who hast done great things: O God, who is like unto thee?!"
{Psalm 71:19}

Descending on our way into Dallas!
For those who're wondering, even though our flight path was over the gulf for a short while, I never did see it because we were above the clouds at the time!

SO many people to tell of Jesus...

Lord, our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!
who hast set thy glory above the heavens.
When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers,
the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;
What is man, that thou art mindful of him?
and the son of man, that thou visitest him?"
{Psalm 8:1, 3-4}

On solid ground again...

If you're still reading this post, then, Congratulations! for you're a patient person to endure all the pictures OR you're a fellow lover of all things sky/avaition related! =)

These verses are so fitting and encouraging to close with...

"Ah Lord GOD! Thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power

and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee!

Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh, is there anything too hard for me?"

{Jeremiah 32:17,27}

Great photos Charity! I really enjoyed flying too, when I did a few years ago. It's an amazing view of God's creation.
The verses you chose were very fitting too!
