Memorial Day 2014

 It was a peaceful day; Memorial Day 2014:  Lively conversation mingled with hearty "get your self a stomach ache quick"  laughter.  Intense basketball games bringing some great shots and sweaty guys.  Team work preparing and cleaning up a delicious meal.   Yummy aromas of hamburgers grilling.  Savory  tastes of loaded hamburgers and hotdogs, salads, vegetables, beans, fruit, and cake and ice cream.  The birthday song sung and presents opened by a lil' boy who turned four. Instruments enthusiastically played and new songs thrown together.  High swing rides and big smiles. Energy and play of little children, just soaking up the fun.  Invigorating walks and more talk.  Cool breezes and a God painted sky, with the glory of sunset.  Such lovely times.

Thank you to the millions of heroes who have courageously laid down their lives so we could better enjoy that day and everyday, without out the worries and dangers millions around the world slam into at every side.  May we NEVER forget.

Most importantly, let us continually recall to mind Jesus--the picture of sacrifice.  Shedding His precious blood... life-granting, life-transforming, FREELY bestowed on ALL who believe! Such mercy!  What a cause for thanksgiving!

"Greater LOVE hath no man than this;
than a man lay down his life for his friends."
{John 15:13}
