#100happydays

Day 73:Dishes.
If you, like me, have ever reflected a lazy, ungrateful heart by grudgingly tackling a pile of dishes may these thoughts challenge you to, by the power of God, never look at them the same way again...

Today I looked at the large stack of dishes washed and yet to wash and couldn't help but be struck with how blessed I am.

These dishes represent the blessing of a large family; the gift of fantastic parents and siblings. Just having parents means I have more than 153 million children world wide, not to mention all those who are in terrible family situations.

These dishes represent the many delicious meals served around our big table in a comfortable home. Having plenty of food means I have more than 925 million people in the world.

The ability to do these dishes represent the gift of physical and mental abilities, enabling me to work. "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning." {James 1:17}

These  dishes represent the opportunity to be faithful in the little.  "He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much...And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man's, who shall give you that which is your own? {Luke 16:10a, 12}

These dishes represent a chance to joyfully serve. "But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant." {Matthew 23:11} "Rejoice in the Lord always, and again I say, rejoice!" {Philippians 4:4}

Most pertinently, These dishes represent a task to be accomplished for God's glory. It's not a choice; it's a command--"Whether therefore ye eat, or drink or whatsoever ye do, do ALL to the glory of God!" {1 Corinthians 10:31}

These dishes represent happy days. Truly, the Lord's blessings are more than be numbered!"O give thanks unto the LORD for HE IS GOOD;for His mercy endureth forever!"

Well said, Sugar....as usual! Decades ago, I read about a woman who wrote, that she , in order to fight complaining in her life, prayed for each one in her family as she washed their dish or glass or as she ironed their clothes.
That has always been an encouragement to me. And now, you have repeated the same!! Only better! love you!
