One Grand Graduation

Last month, Anna celebrated the completion of her home education with a special Sunday service at church.  She and four other young people received their diplomas, and all of our families along with over two hundred others rejoiced together.

Prelude...  Ivan did a splendid job, and I wish y'all could have heard him!

Ivan, Dad, Anna and I sang the variant tune of "When I Survey" and "Holy, Holy, Holy". {I was at the piano...[smile]}
Anna and a fellow graduate played "The Love of God". {Video below!}

Anna's speech...  She did an amazing job.  Reflecting on the work the Lord has done in her life, and seeing the boldness He gave her to be a shining testimony for Him was beautiful.   {Video below!}

Pastor Pappas...preaching yet another powerful, convicting sermon! The theme was taken from Joshua 1:7-9--"Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper withersoever thou goest. This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.  Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest."
"This world is not a playground, it's a battleground."
"Meditate on the Word day and night."
"Live today for Him because you're not promised tomorrow."
"Courage is required to stand...steadfast and unmovable."
"Be WHOLLY dependent on the Lord."
"Having a mind and heart fixed on the same goal makes the will unmovable."
{Listen HERE!}

Dad and Mom sharing...{before giving Anna her diploma}  Love and laughter abounded as they shared about Anna's fun personality, homeschooling experiences, and of their thankfulness for her commitment to Jesus.
"Congratulations on a job well done!"

Anna's picture board...  I could go on all day recollecting the precious memories brought back through this. [smile]

Gift opening...  Back at home, the celebration lasted well into the night as we enjoyed fellowship with family and friends!

The ten of us...  Anna is a joy to our family, and it's so exciting to see her enter this new phase of life!  A simple summary of our feelings that day can be found in Psalm 126:3--
"The LORD has done GREAT THINGS for us; whereof we are glad!"
